Elisa is an actor, singer, musician, and teacher living in Brooklyn. She graduated early from NYU Tisch in order to make her Broadway debut in the 2005 revival of Sweeney Todd, directed by John Doyle and starring Patti LuPone. Since then she has had the pleasure of working with John on two other projects: Ten Cents A Dance (at the McCarter Theatre) and August Rush (a new, Broadway bound musical). She has also performed at The Public Theatre, NYMF, and Fringe NYC.
A cellist and pianist for over two decades, Elisa is very happy she never had to decide between music and theater. In addition to her actor/musician projects, she can be found playing cello, accordion, ukulele and sometimes a few (eight total!) other instruments at great NYC venues including The Public Theater, Studio 54, and recording for Shakespeare in the Park. She also loves playing, singing, composing, and arranging with her band.
Elisa is also the founder of Play Music NYC, which connects exceptional teaching artists with children and adults for private music and acting lessons, in addition to running Sing On! Children's Choir. As a teacher, Elisa is firm in her belief that learning music should be fun, inspiring, and flexible. She takes great pride in creating a program that stands behind this.
